How it works

Five steps. The Upwork journey, your platform.

Everything a buyer and a contractor expect from a freelance marketplace — proposals, escrow, messages, kickoff video, weekly payment release — built in.

01
📝

Post a job

Title, skills, hourly budget, hours per week. Brief goes to 47K contractors on Kbot's cross-tenant feed.

02
📨

Review proposals

Contractor photos, Top Rated badges, job-success score, cover letter, match score. Sort by best match.

03
🔒

Hire & fund escrow

Stripe Checkout funds the escrow. Money sits in Kbot's platform balance — protected for both sides.

04
💬

Work & chat

Threads, attachments, two-way read state. Schedule a kickoff jitsi room straight from the message.

05
💸

Release payment

One click weekly via Stripe Connect. One click refund if anything goes wrong. 1099-NEC filed automatically.

Vs Upwork

Same hiring journey. Different ownership.

FAQ

Quick answers.

How is the escrow protected?

Funds are collected by Stripe Checkout and sit in Kbot's platform balance until you release. A 14-day auto-release applies unless disputed. Refunds go back to the original card in 5–10 days.

Who hosts the workspace? My tenant or kasercorp.com?

Both. Every tenant gets a `/Workforce` route on their own subscriber subdomain. The cross-tenant proposal feed is shared (opt-in per job) so you reach 47K contractors without giving up the relationship.

How does the 1099-NEC filing work?

At year-end, Kbot aggregates every released payment per contractor. Anyone over $600 gets a 1099-NEC auto-prepared and filed with the IRS via TaxBandits. You can preview, edit, or submit manually.

Can contractors invoice me weekly?

Yes — toggle weekly auto-billing per contract. The worker collapses approved timesheets into a single invoice every ISO week. Optional Stripe Connect auto-pay closes the loop.

What about video calls?

Schedule any contract kickoff straight from the chat — Kbot generates a jitsi room (powered by kbot-meet), drops the join link into the thread, and logs the meeting on the contract timeline.
