Kaser Mambo XVault FAQ

1. Why can I not see the display on the TV, or Monitor after connecting Mambo XVault?

The Video Output on the Mambo XVault may not be set correctly. It can happen when you move Mambo XVault from TV (using AV cable output) to LCD display (using VGA as output). To solve the problem:
  1. Power-on the Mambo XVault after connected to the target display device,
  2. Then press the "TV" button on the remote control and wait for few seconds to see if the screen is shown on the display.
  3. If there is still no screen shows up, press "TV" button again. This may take pressing "TV" button up several times in order to set Mambo XVault?s video output to correct display mode.

2. Why does it take so long for the Mambo XVault to scan all the media files stored on my USB Flash or USB HDD (Hard Disk Drive)?

When you select "Movie"/"Music"/"Photo", the XVault scans your disk/storage media for all compatible files and list those files. You may want to put only the minimum media files that you wish to use on your storage device (U disk/ Mobile Hard Disk/ Media Card).

3. Why does Mambo XVault fail to access my storage device/media? I am pretty sure that these devices (SD flash, USB flash or USB HDD) are connected properly.

There are three possible situations:
  1. Make sure these media are not corrupted or damaged or have bad sectors. To ensure this, please try plug these storage devices back to you PC and see if they function normally.
  2. Make sure the storage media is formatted with the File System supported by Mambo XVault: FAT, FAT32, or NTFS.
  3. The portable USB HDD needs additional power supply: The power from the Mambo XVault via USB is not sufficient to supply the external USB HDD.

4. Why can I not read the full filename from the list while selecting the movies/video?

When the file name is too long, XVault only displays a partial name. However, when selected, the complete filename will be shown through scrolling text.

6. What HD means

HD means high density. 720P/1080i/1080P are the resolution of high density. User needs to connect the component(Y/Pb/Pr) cable to set TV in HD mode. This gets the better resolution during watching.

8. Why the loading is so slow and stop playing when any 3.5"/2.5"/1.8" hard drive is attached?

Xvault sorts the relative file from the complete drive. The more smaller files/folder in the drive, the longer it takes. The play will be doom when too many smaller files are inside the drive. Need to reformat the drive and only movie/picture/music flies are stored.

9. Can Xvault support HD mode?

Yes, Xvault can support HD TV/projector. But the device won't decode the HD content. It only upscale the content and output to the device.
